QUEBRADA IGNACIA / IGNACIA CREEK

Juan nunca ha aprendido a estar solo. Hombre de ciudad, ahora vive en el bosque lluvioso de la Península de Osa, rodeado de verde, libros y manuscritos. A pesar de haber intercambiado muy pocas palabras con ella, Juan se obsesiona con Ignacia, la mujer del cuidador de su finca. ¿Existe esa mujer que apenas sabe leer pero recita de memoria ´Platero y yo´? En un pueblo ahora convertido en su purgatorio y de la mano de varias mujeres, Juan intenta darle sentido a su soledad.

Juan never learned to be alone. A city man, he now lives in the Osa Peninsula rain forest, surrounded by greenery, books and manuscripts. Despite having exchanged few words with her, Juan is obsessed with Ignacia, wife of his ranch’s caretaker. Does that woman, who barely knows how to read, yet can recite from memory ‘Platero y yo,’ really exist? In this town that has become his purgatory, hand in hand with several women, Juan tries to give meaning to his solitude.
