Considering the effects COVID-19 has had in Chile and the World, the organizers at the Valdivia International Film Festival have decided to extend the 2020 call until April 30. This measure is aimed at facilitating the application process to FICVALDIVIA 27, which will take place between October 5 and 11, 2020.
The works selected to the competition will screen in five categories: International Feature, Chilean Feature, Youth Feature, Short Film from Latin America and The Caribbean, Children’s Short Film from Latin America and The Caribbean. Motion pictures that wish to apply may not have shown previously in Chile and must be finished after May 12th, 2019.
Additionally, the festival program offers a broad non-competitive section that includes historic retrospectives, focuses on contemporary filmmakers, political cinema, avant-garde pictures, gender movies, and a section devoted to cinema for children and their families.

To participate, filmmakers must register in the FESTHOME web platform on the following link; this is the only way to be a part of the process. Movies sent through other channels will not be accepted.
