Valdivia is to me an essential festival, a dear festival. I feel it has played a fundamental role in the Chilean cinematographic scene, not only stimulating the development and circulation of local cinema, but also creating ties with cinema from the rest of the world. Valdivia has been a bridge to show Chilean audiences and filmmakers what is happening out there, and what is happening in here, within our own borders. To me, it has been a very important place to get in contact with spectators, students and other filmmakers. At Valdivia, I have forged great friendships, and have had great life experiences. Thanks to the festival, that city of rains, rain forests and rivers now lives in my imagination, as a place of fantasies, lived around cinema and dreams.
